Schedule of Classes
6:30 PM – U.S. Open $25,000 Under 25 FEI Grand Prix Presented by Hollow Creek Farm
The U.S. Open – U25 FEI Grand Prix will feature young riders with bright futures in the sport of show jumping. U25 classes give the up-and-coming stars of tomorrow a valuable stepping-stone from the junior and amateur ranks to the grand prix level. U25 events have become popular in recent years. Based on speed and faults, U25 riders will approach a first-round course of fences. Those who leave all the rails intact will advance to a jump-off where they will race against the clock. The rider who navigates the shorter second-round course in the fastest time while leaving all the rails up will be crowned the winner.
8:00 PM – U.S. Open $216,000 Grand Prix CSI 3* Presented by Rolex
The U.S. Open – FEI 3* Grand Prix will feature the best horses and riders in the world. FEI competition offers tracks built at 1.50m up to even 1.65m in height, showing off the athleticism, speed, agility and bravery of the show jumping horse. In 2014, hometown girl Georgina Bloomberg took top call in the Central Park Horse Show Grand Prix. She returns in 2017 to try to take the title for a second time. As in other show jumping classes, the goal of the world’s top competitors here is to leave all the jumps intact and navigate the course quicker than your competition. The course is harder. The jumps are higher. The riders faster. Therefore, the rewards are greater.
The stream will cover all classes, with a placeholder for in between classes.
